CONFERENCE “OTTOMAN GOVERNANCE IN THE BALKANS” AT VISION UNIVERSITY

The conference entitled “Ottoman Governance in the Balkans”, organized by the Institute for Balkan Studies at the International Vision University, was held with a large audience attendance.

The event was attended by representatives of the university administration, politics, diplomacy, and civil society, as well as numerous guests and students.

The esteemed Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şimşirgil, well known for his research in the field of history, thoroughly examined and explained the historical and cultural dimensions of Ottoman governance in the Balkans.

The opening addresses were delivered by the Rector of the International Vision University, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Vecdi Can; the President of the TDP Party, Mr. Zülfikar Zeynullah; the President of TMBH, Mr. Erdogan Saraç; and the President of the Tiran Alsar Foundation, Mr. Mehdi Gurra.

The conference concluded with significant evaluations that contributed to the shared historical awareness of multilingualism and multiculturalism in the Balkans.
